The Thirteenth Cup

Who said #13 is unlucky?  Look at this magical DD Cup!  So this morning was not fun driving the 25 north up to Alberta - I mean S. Deerfield MA.  You just kinda have to close your eyes and turn around these snow mounds - it is very circa winter 1996 out there - the last time we saw snow mountains like this.  So anyways, I pull into my friendly DD a little bit slower than usual.  Though I do love this DD, they really do need to plow out their drive thru a bit better!  So while channeling my inner Alanis singing "You Oughtta Know"  (remember its circa 1996) I lean out and say "Can I have a large Cinnamon with Cream and Sugar Please".  The voice comes back and says, "You sure can!"  Slipping my way up to the window I hand my $5.13 over and back comes this magical DD Cup!  This one must have been waiting for me before my order - no way could it have appeared this way in the time from speaker to window.  I laugh as the drive thru girl hands it over and say, "Brilliant - I love this one!"  I get wished a wonderful day and drive off.  Note - the x's and o's (and a few hearts), make one bit heart - you just can't see it in this picture.  Thank you DD Cup - you are one of my new favorites!
OH - And My Piccachu can be seen to the top left of the picture.  She has been with me a long time and brings me good luck when gambling :) 

The Twelfth Cup!

So it's the Winter of Hell here in New England.  Yes I know all you people will say "It's New England - what do you expect!"  I don't care - this sucks!  So driving into work - through the snowy wet roads, listening to Kelly sing me sad songs, and thinking grrrrrr WTF is going on with my life - I drive up to my DD drive thru and ask "May I have a Large Cinnamon with Cream and Sugar please?"  The lady giggles and says "Oh You sure can!"  I pull up and wait just a little bit this morning for my coffee.  I'm thinking, "wow I think a magical DD Coffee Cup would be just what my winter blues need".  I handed my $20.13 over and out comes not only a heart filled cup, but one that has a heart on the LID too!   I laugh when I get this one and just say "Thanks ladies - you have made my day just a little brighter now with this magical cup!".  The drive thru girl wishes me a wonderful day and I drive on.  Getting to the office I go to start drinking my hot cinnamon coffee and stare straight into my heart lid.  Oh DD Cups - where would I be this winter with out you?

The Eleventh Cup

The drive into work is getting treacherous with the 10 foot mountains of snow.  My cups have been blank for a few days now - it's been very sad.  This morning I drove up to the sign and thought - "OMG what cute Heart Donuts DD has this year!"  The voice came over the speaker "How can I help you?"  "Can I have a large Cinnamon with cream and sugar please".   "You sure can - giggle giggle giggle"  Wow - I think there was an extra giggle, maybe my DD cup will have something on it today.  I handed over my $2.13 and upon receipt I got a cute heart covered DD cup!  A perfect match to their new Heart Donuts!  This cup looks like it was created in between the order and window today!  Perhaps my magic DD Cup creator was having a busy morning?  At any rate the hearts made me smile - it's been an awful week and this helped make it just a bit better.  Thank you DD Cup - I do love you too!

The Tenth Cup

And so we are no live with my DD Chronicles.  Today took me a bit longer as we were getting hit with our 10000 snow storm of this winter.  After a difficult drive in, and an awful past weekend, I pulled up to the DD menu sign (thinking wow they still are advertising Gingerbread Lattes?) and I heard "Good Morning, how can I help you?"  I said "Can I have a Large Cinnamon with Cream and Sugar Please".  The reply "You Sure Can!"  I handed over my $20.13 today and with my change was this masterpiece.  My hearts seemed bigger and more vibrant - and I was told to "Drive Safe - Wanna C U Again".  This was a special Cup!  Thank you DD Cup - and yes I did drive safe today and I hope to c u soon!

The Eighth Cup

We are almost up to date with the DD Cup Chronicles!  Two weeks ago today was the mother of all storms - and we have had a lot.  My DD Cup however, did seem to be looking forward to the snow - in fact it was cheering for it!  Well we got 2 feet that next day so perhaps my cups could be part weather man too.  Oh and I was happy to see my snowman return complete with buttons!

The Seventh Cup

I remember this cup well!  The giggle that came after my or of "A Large Cinnamon with Cream and Sugar" was louder than usual.  I drove up and handed the girl the $2.13.  She handed me this cup and said "You so make her day".  I said, "No - let her know that these cups make MY day".  I got kissed this morning - it was sweet. 

The Sixth Cup

Hello DD cup!  I do hope you have a Good Day too!

The Fifth Cup

Now this cup has extra special meaning.  Do the X and Os mean "I love you"?  To me that day they had another meaning - My fantasy football team had just reached the Super Bowl!  Not only was my DD Cup showing me love, but it had also become a sort of good luck charm as I looked ahead to a Super Bowl Victory.  btw - I did end up winning the league - and I think my DD Cup had something to do with that!

The Fourth Cup

Today's cup was the first one with out it's usual black magic marker.  I like this one.  Though it is your basic blue pen, the hearts are a plenty and the Have a Great Day lasted with me through out that long day of work!

The Third Cup

The next few days my Cups went back to their marker free days.  Then about a week after my first design creation I pulled up to the speaker and said "Can I have a large Cinnamon with Cream and Sugar Please".  A giggle came over the speaker and I heard "You sure can".  I knew my day would be brighter.  I remember the line was long that day and it took me many minutes of anticipation to reach the window.  What would it be?  Would I be told to have a good day again?  Perhaps a Merry Christmas?  I handed over my $2.13 and out came my very own Snowman Cup!  Complete with cute little stars.  My DD cup creation lady must know that I needed cheer this past December.  FYI - I was just told that I should start chronicling my Cups instead of just posting them on FB.  Soon we will be up to date and posted the day of the cup!

The Second Cup

I was kind of embarrassed pulling up that second time to the drive thru.  Would I be getting another cup?  What would it say?  The first one made my day - would I be upset if now my DD cup would be blank with only the pre-printed Happy Holidays greeting me?  I pulled up to the frosted covered drive thru menu and said "Can I have a large Cinnamon with Cream and Sugar Please?".  The voice on the other said said "Oh You sure can!"  Well look at that?  I not only have hearts on my cup, but a Christmas Tree welcoming me to my morning.  I had zero Christmas Spirit this year - in fact this is the closest I got to having a Christmas Tree.  Oh DD lady - you do brighten my day!

The FIRST Cup

I was having a bad week early in December when I pulled into my Dunkin Donuts and ordered my usual - "Large Cinnamon with Cream and Sugar Please".  There was a giggle on the other side of the speaker.  I thought, 'hmm that's weird'.  I handed my $2.13 over to the drive thru girl and she handed me the above cup.  She said "It's not from me".  I smiled and said thanks - I really  needed something sweet like that today.  I figured that my special cup would be a one time gesture - That was not to be the case.
